Quality control in brass component manufacturing is a comprehensive process that spans from raw material receipt to final product shipment. At BrassCraft Industries, our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system ensures every component meets customer specifications.
Incoming Material Inspection
Every batch of brass bar stock and raw material undergoes chemical composition analysis using our XRF spectrometer. Material certificates are verified against purchase orders, and physical samples are retained for traceability.
First Article Inspection (FAI)
When starting production of a new part or after any process change, a comprehensive first article inspection is performed. All dimensions are measured and documented against the drawing, and the FAI report is submitted to the customer for approval.
In-Process Quality Checks
Operators perform dimensional checks at regular intervals using calibrated gauges. Critical dimensions are monitored using SPC (Statistical Process Control) charts. Any trend towards control limits triggers immediate corrective action.
Thread Inspection
All threaded components are verified using calibrated Go/No-Go thread gauges. Thread form, pitch, and minor/major diameters are checked against the applicable standard (BSP, NPT, ISO metric, etc.).
Surface Treatment Verification
Plated components undergo coating thickness measurement using X-ray fluorescence or magnetic induction methods. Adhesion testing and salt spray testing verify the quality and durability of surface treatments.
Final Inspection & Packaging
Final inspection follows the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) sampling plan agreed with the customer. Approved lots are clean-packed in protective packaging with inspection reports, material certificates, and any required compliance documentation.
Continuous Improvement
Our quality team conducts regular internal audits, management reviews, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes to drive continuous improvement across all operations.
