Sustainability is at the core of modern brass manufacturing. As an inherently recyclable material, brass offers unique environmental advantages that make it one of the greenest engineering materials available.
Brass Recycling
Brass is 100% recyclable without any loss of properties. At BrassCraft Industries, we recycle 100% of our machining swarf and scrap material. Recycled brass requires only 10% of the energy needed to produce virgin brass from raw ores, significantly reducing our carbon footprint.
Closed-Loop Manufacturing
Our manufacturing process operates on a near-closed-loop basis. Brass chips and turnings from CNC operations are collected, sorted by alloy, and sent to our recycling partner for remelting into new bar stock. This reduces waste to near zero.
Energy Efficiency
Modern CNC machines with servo drives consume significantly less energy than older hydraulic systems. Our facility incorporates energy-efficient LED lighting, power factor correction, and a solar panel installation that generates a portion of our electricity needs.
Water Conservation
Coolant management systems recirculate and filter machining coolants, extending their life and reducing water consumption. Waste coolant is processed through an evaporator system before disposal, minimizing environmental impact.
Environmental Certifications
Our ISO 14001:2015 certification provides the framework for systematic environmental management. We maintain compliance with RoHS and REACH regulations, ensuring our products meet the strictest environmental standards globally.
The Brass Advantage
Compared to many alternative materials, brass manufacturing has a lower environmental impact due to high recyclability, lower processing temperatures, excellent machinability (less energy per part), and a well-established scrap collection and recycling infrastructure.
Our Commitment
BrassCraft Industries is committed to continuously improving our environmental performance. Through investment in cleaner technologies, employee training, and community engagement, we aim to set the standard for sustainable brass manufacturing.
